Why Mayo Clinic Position description Preforms analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
Qualifications For MT-Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Applicants with a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or health related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship or clinical laboratory experience will be considered in the appropriate field of study (i.e. Microbiology).
For MLT- Associate’s degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.

Additional qualifications Experience working in a medical field preferred. Moderate to advanced computer skills. Possess good written and oral communications skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Willingness to travel to other MCHS locations for assignments as needed.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $21.37 per hour for MLT and $26.60 for MT

Hours / Pay period 80
Schedule details Evening shift start time - usually at 1530. Will be in pool to help cover night shift. (We have full time night tech.)
Weekend schedule Every 3rd weekend.
If weekend is night shift, duty will be Friday and Saturday night. If weekend is evening shift, duty will be Saturday and Sunday evening.
