As part of HealthPartners integrated care system, the Institute uses research and education to accelerate improvements in quality, experience and affordability for our members, patients and the community. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Research Development Associate. This research development position ensures the efficient development and submission of numerous research grant proposals and the scientific review of research applications through the interpretation and application of Federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of research activities. The Research Development Associate works with internal Institute researchers and external researchers and organizations to develop both the scientific and financial plans for research projects in a wide variety of health and health care topics. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in related area (i.e.: Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, etc.) Minimum of 2 years related experience with supporting the planning of health-related research projects and/or the development of Federal grant proposals Strong detail orientation Excellent oral and written communication, coordination, and organization skills Computer literacy and proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets and word processing applications Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships including with Institute leadership, staff and researchers and representatives of funding agencies Ability to work with a minimum of supervision Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years' work experience in a research environment Grants management experience and familiarity with scientific, financial and regulatory requirements of health care research Familiarity with Federal regulations related to research grants Ability to take broad guidelines of a task, initiate a course of action and then coordinate the activity through completion Personal communication skills needed to represent directed needs of the Institute to outside agencies and organizations Demonstrated experience in developing positive work relationships with a variety of staff Accountabilities: Oversees the development and submission of research proposals to a variety of funding sources including federal government, foundations, and industry. Insures that all applications and subsequent requests are timely and complete. Ensures that proposals are compliant with applicable regulatory, ethical and legal standards. Reviews application requirements and ensures proposals are complete and meet the requirements of the funding agency. Provides writing and editing services to support grant submission. Prepares and maintains supporting documentation and descriptions of the organization, personnel, and resources. Analyzes the operational and institutional requirements for conducting the proposed research and develops a budget commensurate with those requirements and within the guidelines of specific grant programs. Assists researchers in the preparation of research applications and corresponding budgets for internal research review. Maintains and uses electronic systems and software which support the proposal development process. Updates electronic tracking system and ensures that information is up to date and accurate.
