The Bernard Group Design Engineer in Chanhassen, Minnesota

We are looking for enthusiastic Design Engineer to join our Engineering and Fixture Estimating team. You?ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world class products to our customers. This role will work with clients, sales team and design team members to create SolidWorks models, drawings, and BOMs for the quotation and manufacturing of fixtures (primarily manufactured out of wood).
Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm
This is a salaried position that is eligible for performance-based increases as well as a generous benefits package.
A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:
a Degree in CAD/engineering, Mechanical Design or engineering
PC literacy (understand windows OS and standard file structures)
a minimum of 4 years active use with Solidworks, required
proficiencies in the following software (preferred): Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe CC, Acrobat
retail fixture experience, a plus

In this position, you will:
collaborate with product development, prototyping, design and sales team to engineer create and compelling solutions within the project budget and timelines.
work with clients (outside client, Sales, or PM) and designer to understand project objective
create detailed SolidWorks models, drawings, and BOMs to use for prototyping and production of parts
create PDF drawings and compatible files for production on CNC machine (if applicable)
be responsible for accurate documentation and revision control of all drawings and models
be a leader on the team in utilizing our EPDM file system
build models, specifically wood parts, utilizing the SOP provided by the team
if required, create SW renderings from models
if required, put together presentation deck in InDesign, which may include high quality renderings, drawing and callouts about parts
in some instances, create models and drawings based on parts which have already been produced, prototyped or participate in value engineering exercises
work with fabrication, vendor partners or prototype teams to edit and revive parts for production
