Bachman's Inc. Nursery Worker I in Farmington, Minnesota

Need 26 full time, temporary, seasonal Nursery Workers to work for Bachman's in Farmington, MN. From: 04/01/2021 to 11/21/2021 Work: 40-55 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8-10 hrs./day, Sat. as needed. Hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of time and a half. JOB DUTIES: Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables, fruits, nuts, horticultural specialties, and field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, hand pruners, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying pesticides; or cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, unloading and loading harvested products. Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. May require work on Saturdays. Workers may be offered less work or be requested to work more hours on any given day, depending on crop and weather conditions. Workers may be requested but not required to work as much as 8 hrs./day on their Sabbath and/or Federal holidays. Wage rate may be more based on seniority with employer and level of skill. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 3 months experience, able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally, able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, frequent stooping, bending over, and repetitive movements; able to perform physical job duties outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for 8-10 hours per day; able to work with plants in a farm setting and work adjacent to or with nursery equipment, agricultural chemicals, and other related agricultural activities; no minimum education requirement. Must Apply By: 07/28/2021 EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts.
