Skilled technicians are hired as members of the Quality Organization. They are responsible for ensuring our products meet specification. We will depend on you to perform analysis on samples, maintain and analyze data, perform sanitation activities within the work area, and ensure sample throughput. The General Mills-Fridley plant operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week. These positions involve 12 hour shifts. Changes in volume and production requirements can result in changes in work schedule and additional overtime. The starting wage for a Quality Technician position depends on experience. Accountabilities: Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE Daily analysis of grain that is used to make operational decisions Self-directed execution of daily, quarterly, monthly tasks Conduct lab Internal Reference Material (IRM) program laboratory activities Data entry into MQIS (statistical analysis database) Partnering with team leaders and technicians to influence quality decisions and support production Intermediate knowledge of instrumentation and troubleshooting Lab cleaning and maintenance Control of documentation Ownership of various FSQ initiatives Additional duties may exist as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship High School Diploma or GED Proficiency in basic computer skills Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces Must be willing to work as part of a team and demonstrate strong attention to detail and communication skills Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including weekends Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal skills General Mills is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
