Description POSITION SUMMARY: RandD Technician is responsible for providing technical support for RDandI Department. Individual is self-motivated and require supervision. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand the functionality of a limited number of ingredients. Learn to set up and maintain all relevant lab and pilot plant equipment as prescribed by supervisor. Independently operate some pilot plant equipment. Clean and maintain all equipment with minimal assistance. Independently keep the lab/kitchen clean and organized for ongoing research; perform daily, routine lab/kitchen clean-up. Can operate most lab equipment including mixers, scales, sealers; learn to use pH meter and other testing equipment. Anticipate the needs of current and planned tasks and keep ingredients for formulating stocked or on order. Accurately weigh ingredients and blend as prescribed by supervisor. Record data from prescribed experiments with some supervision. Accept input and direction from others and put feedback into action. Communicate accurately and in a timely manner. Demonstrate common sense and logic in day-to-day assignments Learn where and how to get information and seek coaching when needed. Follow through on details and agreed upon tasks to deliver results. Lead by example, open to sharing new ideas and skills with others. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Degree plus 1+ years of experience OR Associate Degree in the technical field. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Exhibit a professional attitude at all times; demonstrate a cooperative demeanor and willingness to help others. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
