Job Description The RandD Specialist will be part of the Agile Technology team supporting different technologies and product chassis across the Snacks platform. The initial assignment will be to within the innovation sub-team which will pursue technology development and commercialization execution for new products supporting primarily North America but also Europe and Australia. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Pilot plant equipment setup, accountability, and mastery Travel to manufacturing plants to support tests and start-ups; ability to work well with internal and external manufacturing sites. Manage some projects independently while working collaboratively on others Execute experiments (in labs and pilot plant) working with RandD developers and Shared Services support Collect data both manually and electronically; organize and document for future use Procure and manage materials; manage and maintain pilot plant areas and lab spaces Build and leverage cross-functional and external network to support and execute work Participate in cross functional meetings and represent ITQ points of view and next steps. Accelerate General Mills digital transformation through trialing new sensors, controls infrastructure, digital models, and/or data streams. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma; w/7 years of directly relatable experience Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs) Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment; comfortable operating equipment Basic understanding of food safety and human safety Strong problem-solving skills Strong bias for action Ability to complete work without frequent daily direction Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a team environment Effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities Agile, ability to flex across teams within the platform as work needs shift PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Interpersonal ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization to advance your work Demonstrated mechanical passion and creativity around equipment set-up and modifications. Previous work experience in a similar field (Food product development or manufacturing experience) Experience with snacks products - salty snacks, fruits snacks, or grain bars.
