OPENING DATE: 10/12/20 CLOSING DATE: 10/26/20 11:59 PM Central Time JOB TYPE: Full-time LOCATION: Hopkins, MN, Minnesota DEPARTMENT: Human Services and Public Health THE POSITION The Human Services and Public Health (HSPH) department is seeking an Epidemiologist. Under limited supervision, you will investigate and analyze the cause(s) of infectious diseases, advise on methods of disease control and prevention, and communicate with the medical community and the general public concerning infectious disease control and prevention. Location and hours: Currently, this position is working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. This position is typically located at the West Suburban Hennepin County Service Center at 1011 First Street South, Hopkins, MN 55343. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, and periodically on the weekends between the hours of 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. About this position: This is a full-time, benefit earning position. In this position, you will: Conduct COVID case interview and contact tracing. Conduct infectious disease investigations and follow-up for a variety for diseases (e.g., pertussis, measles, mumps, hepatitis A). Conduct TB contact investigations. Analyze, interpret, and report infectious disease and medical condition data. Maintain disease surveillance systems including control methods and program evaluation. Maintain contact with community health care providers to encourage proper reporting of infectious disease cases. Investigate infectious disease outbreaks by interviewing patients, contacts, and health care providers. Consult with and recommend intervention and disease control measures to health care professionals, childcare providers, school health personnel, and others.
