Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual with a keen interest and experience in power utility and renewable energy projects. As an Environmental Scientist and Project Manager you would provide technical expertise and project management on a variety of our regulatory permitting projects, including natural gas, electrical transmission, and wind and solar energy. Our projects are located across the U.S., with a focus in the Upper Midwest.
This is a full-time position within our Midwest Environmental Services team, primarily based in Wisconsin; however, alternate locations will be considered.
Your Key Responsibilities
Project Management responsibilities include:
Managing multiple and varying projects (resources, scope and budgets)
Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project/task order objectives
Developing project proposals
Coordinating with project clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff
Marketing and business development
Environmental, regulatory and permitting responsibilities include:
Identifying project-specific environmental design and regulatory requirements
Coordinating with resource agency personnel
Writing and reviewing technical reports
Preparing environmental permit applications
Presenting at public meetings
Facilitating successful environmental permitting of multiple and varied projects
Additional responsibilities may include coordinating, conducting, and/or leading field work
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience managing environmental compliance projects in the renewable energy or power utility sector
Experience managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently
Experience with local, state and federal environmental regulations and permitting in the Midwest
Willingness and ability to travel
Strong work ethic, high ethical standards, and a desire for team success
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Project management experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in the physical or natural sciences, engineering, environmental science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience with technical specialization and expertise in environmental compliance, natural resource assessments and studies, and permitting.
Project and task management experience is required.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
