Pace Analytical Services, Inc. Physical Properties Technician in Maplewood, Minnesota
We are looking for a Physical Properties Technician interested in a fun, hands-on experience testing adhesives and related materials in a laboratory setting. A candidate with experience using force testing equipment is preferred.
Perform physical properties testing/characterization on a variety of samples to support product development, product changes and improvements, and customer complaints
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of laboratory equipment issues as related to equipment or materials
Assist on a pilot scale line to make materials for testing
Work with extruders, laminators, and slitters
Document in detail testing, equipment use, results, and observations
Maintain laboratory by stocking, ordering raw material supplies, initiating repair work, or other duties as needed
Communicate with other testers and requesters to organize work, clarify testing, and convey results
Provide input into writing and modifying of current and new test methods
Bachelor's degree required (Chemistry or Physics preferred)
Highly organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Experience using force testing equipment preferred
Mechanical aptitude and/or web handling experience preferred
Familiarity with a regulated laboratory environment preferred
Experience in a laboratory setting through upper-level classes, internships, senior design projects, undergraduate research, or previous work experience
