Child Psychiatrist - Assistant, Associate or Professor of Psychiatry

Position Description

  • The University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a child and adolescent psychiatrist for full-time position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

  • This position will include clinical duties working in a child and adolescent inpatient unit at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. Depending on the candidate’s background and interest, this position could also involve a leadership role such as Medical Director of the child and adolescent inpatient unit(s) and the opportunity for outpatient work.

  • Additional responsibilities will include: participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through UMPhysicians, and participation in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and your profession.


  • The candidate must have a medical doctorate or equivalent degree from an AAMC-accredited program

  • Candidate must have completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

  • Candidate must have a medical license or eligible for licensure in the state of Minnesota, and must be board-eligible or board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

  • Candidates must have some experience teaching, have demonstrated outstanding clinical practice, and have demonstrated a track record of scholarly activity.
