Pace Analytical Services, Inc. Field Tech 1 - Minnesota Field Air Sampling in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Pace's Field Air Sampling team based in Minneapolis is seeking a new, entry-level field tech to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance in collecting, testing, processing and maintenance of field/environmental samples, which involves knowledge on fundamental field/environmental support policies, programs and practices while completing appropriate forms, documents and databases. These requirements are essential: The tech will be responsible for providing stack testing services to clients in most of the 50 states, including Alaska. The position involves working at elevated heights on stacks and rooftops mobilizing equipment by carrying or roping, requiring physical strength during these mobilizations; must be comfortable with heights, experience with heights is preferred. The tech will be responsible for providing assistance in collecting, testing, processing and maintenance of field/environmental samples using a variety of sampling methods for measuring particulates, metals, acid gases, sulfur gases, hydrocarbon gases, volatile and semi-volatile organics emissions. A motivated individual would interact daily with clients, promote cooperation and teamwork among staff and follow Pace policies and standard operating procedures. Hours vary due to client scheduling; typically Monday - Friday with high probability of overtime and occasional weekend hours. Requires extensive travel, up to or exceeding 50% of the time, mostly by truck and trailer, following DOT driving regulations. Capable and willing to work outdoors in all varying conditions. High school diploma or equivalent; Experience in related work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. One year of experience in a lab or environmental setting is preferred. A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required. Mobility to safely operate a motor vehicle and exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
