Allina Health Laboratory provides a full menu of essential and specialized laboratory services to customers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We provide reference laboratory services to four major metropolitan hospitals, 13 regional hospitals, including Abbott Northwestern - WestHealth (Plymouth), 59+ Allina Health clinics, 40+ hospital-based clinics and outpatient surgery centers. As a local, accessible resource, we provide clinical and anatomic pathology services that support customers diagnostic needs. Responsibilities Req ID: 68127 Effectively prioritizes work assignments/tasks. May assist with biopsy collection. Demonstrates an ability to assess and react effectively to unique patient needs. Reviews orders, verifies correct patient labeling and performs processing of specimens according to pathology policies and procedures and in accordance with all federal regulations including CAP, OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA. Evaluates results for accuracy within set guidelines and resolves test problems. Recognizes, communicates, and documents results that require action according policies and procedures. Performs and documents required instrument maintenance and quality control; takes appropriate remedial action. Ensures appropriate record retention. Stocks, rotates and requests supplies (as assigned) on a regular basis to ensure proper availability in the work area. Additional tasks may include, but are not limited to: Trains others in work area(s). Serves as student preceptor. Participate in AHL and/or hospital projects and committees. Performs various clerical duties May assist with department scheduling Attends and participates in department and other meetings, as assigned. Education 2 year associates degree in medical laboratory science, completion of clinical internship, HT certification (if new grad, certification within 6 months of hire). OR *Completion of comprehensive military laboratory science program OR *4 year degree in related science + 2 years clinical lab experience in appropriate analytic * For diplomas earned outside of the United States a record of diploma/transcript equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency must be provided at time of hire. HT certification required within 6 months of hire by a recognized agency such as ASCP or NCA in specialty area incumbent will be working.
