Aerotek Lab Technician - Sample Preparation in MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota


Summary: Facilitates sample preparation and extraction as directed by study protocols for in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility assays and pharmacology, toxicology and analytical studies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Maintains knowledge of applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in order to successfully perform job duties, and GLP and ISO regulations in order to implement appropriate regulations as they apply to the non-clinical research environment and individual protocols.

  2. Conducts sample preparation for Sponsor materials as directed by study protocols for in vivo and in vitro biocompatibility assays and pharmacology, toxicology and analytical studies.

  3. Performs the extraction process on prepared samples in accordance to ISO, USP and JMHLW regulations as directed by study protocols for biocompatibility assays.

  4. Receives and logs Sponsor materials for testing. Completes chain of custody documentation for test article tracking.

  5. Performs a variety of laboratory techniques including sterile/aseptic technique, pipetting, solution preparation, and equipment monitoring.

Other Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Prepares and maintains sterile glassware for the sample preparation process. Processes glassware through washer, autoclave and depyrogenation oven as needed.

  2. Operates, cleans and maintains incubators, autoclaves, hoods and other equipment routinely utilized.

  3. Maintains an efficient and clean work area by organizing and restocking the sample preparation lab as needed.

  4. Communicates well with auditors, clients, and other staff members.

  5. Assists with other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:


  • An Associate or Bachelor degree in related scientific field is required.

  • Experience in a GLP laboratory setting preferred.

  • Basic mathematical knowledge is essential for surface area/volume ratio calculations that are part of the sample preparation process.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
