Laboratory Analyst - Metals ID 2019-3242 # of Openings 1 Job Locations US-MN-Minneapolis Category Science Overview Pace Analytical Services, LLC., a leading national analytical laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Laboratory Analyst Metals at their laboratory in Virginia, MN. Responsibilities Preparing and/or analyzing environmental samples based on published methods and Pace Standard Operating Procedures Following quality control procedures as outlined in documented procedures Preparing standards and reagents Documenting all lab activities in applicable logbooks and databases Entering data into Pace Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as applicable Performing routine maintenance of equipment and instrumentation and troubleshooting Promotes cooperation and teamwork among staff The primary work schedule if M-F 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with some weekends and extended hours as needed ICP/ICP-MS experience preferred Experience with mercury by cold vapor technology preferred Computer skills are a must ie Excel, Word, etc Qualifications Education and/or Experience - BA/BS in a scientific field or 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
