Overview
Fairview Health Services is looking for an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Manager. This positon is responsible for supporting pathology services across the system. Responsibilites include:
Leadership support of Pathology Workflows
Coordinating support services for Pathology
Regulatory compliance of pathology practice
Supporting Standardization and Quality Improvement Initiatives within pathology
The Manager will work collaboratively with the Laboratory leadership to achieve the vision for Fairview Laboratory Services in assigned practice area. This position will have responsibility for the overall management and quality of laboratory services and will work cooperatively with the site leaders. The Manager will be responsible for modeling and implementing customer oriented service. Manager will direct all aspects of laboratory operations in an efficient and cost effective manner. Manager will also be responsible for the laboratory staff. Manager will interact with administration and other managers in the assigned practice area to insure laboratory services are coordinated effectively with patient care delivery.

Manages Laboratory Finances
Provides oversight of budget in conjunction with Vice President of Laboratory Services, Medical Director(s) and other stakeholders.

Manages Laboratory Operations
Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates innovative services for patients, their families and staff.
Represents the laboratory to many constituencies including administration and management council, other staff, the consumer (patient and families), volunteers, etc.
Recognizes and addresses opportunities for improvement.
Uses best practices information to set stretch goals.
Sets appropriate priorities among competing demands.
Creatively manages resources and staffing issues.
Meets all regulatory requirements.
Uses available information technology to support day-to-day work operations.
Remains knowledgeable about legislation and public policy that affects the laboratory.

Qualifications
Required
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field
Experience
5 years of clinical laboratory experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a complex laboratory environment with multiple locations, complex testing, and a large employee group.
Preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, Histotechnology, Cytotechnology, Medical Technology or related field
Experience
Anatomic Pathology Experience
License/Certification/Registration
ASCP certification in area of specialty
