Allina Health Laboratory provides a full menu of essential and specialized laboratory services to customers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We provide reference laboratory services to four major metropolitan hospitals, 13 regional hospitals, including Abbott Northwestern - WestHealth (Plymouth), 59+ Allina Health clinics, 40+ hospital-based clinics and outpatient surgery centers. As a local, accessible resource, we provide clinical and anatomic pathology services that support customers diagnostic needs. Responsibilities Req ID: 53580 In this position there is no specimen collection, processing or testing. Customer service and patient order management. Greets clients patients, performs check-in process, and is responsive to questions and clients and patient needs. Evaluates patient orders for completeness and follows up as needed. Effectively and accurately manages patient orders to ensure adherence to regulatory and billing requirements. Performs scheduling, ordering and releasing as appropriate in Electronic Medical Record, following policies and procedures. Recognizes abnormal, critical, and implausible results. Assists clients in supply ordering. Performs daily work assignments and helps other staff with high volume work assignments when needed. Adheres to all regulatory guidelines. Complete and accurate documentation for all client calls, follow up task, problem notes and problem specimens submitted to client services. Responds to and resolves patient and customer concerns and questions within guidelines. Order entry of client orders and specimen processing if needed. Order entry following established procedures in all systems in use. Fulfillment of client supply orders as needed. Quality customer service to all calls coming into the client service area from outreach clients, account reps, patients, inpatient an outpatient locations from multiple hospital/clinic sites, etc. Fulfillment of courier requests to client sites. Customer service duties to include but not limited to answering phone calls, troubleshooting problems, researching tests and test collection for clients, scanning of documentation, resource for coworkers and customers, aids in training new staff, overall working knowledge of all departments, understanding of all resources available to aid in answering questions that arise on the phone. Accurate and timely collection and processing of specimens. Reviews orders and verifies patient identification. Demonstrates the ability to assess and react effectively to unique patient needs. Instructs patients accurately on procedures and protocols. Evaluates acceptability of specimens Routine and complex laboratory procedures within established guidelines.
