Element Materials Technology Test Technician - Electromechanical in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Element has an opportunity for an Test Technician - Electromechanical in our Aerospace sector. The primary function of the Test Technician is preparing and assisting in testing and collecting test results, analyzing test results, preparing test reports for assigned test programs and conducting tests.
Set-up and perform tests ranging from temperature extremes to hurricane wind and rain
Collect data manually and through use of data acquisition
Report results using excel/word
Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
Accurately observe and record test progression and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project.
Interact with customers during the testing process, periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications
Skills / Qualifications
Electronics/robotics or similar technical degree with 0 - 5 years experience
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of test standards RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810, ASTM a plus
Familiarity with data acquisition, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow meters
Hydraulics/pneumatics experience a plus
Telecom experience a plus – backscatter and attenuation measurements of fiber optic/cable systems
Frequency of required physical force: Occasional (moderate).
Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. sporadically.
Other Skills and Abilities
Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements.
Robotics skills and experience a plus
Ability to interface with clients.
Very good attention to detail, someone who takes ownership and pride in all work
