Need 4 full time, temporary, seasonal Agricultural Equipment Operators to work for Spring Valley Farms in Morris, MN. From: 03/18/2021 To 12/01/2021 Work: 45 hrs./week, Mon-Fri. 8hrs./day, Sat. 5 hrs./day. JOB DUTIES: Perform a variety of manual and machine tasks associated with crops including, but not limited to sugar beet, edible bean, grain and oilseed production; plant, cultivate and weed as needed. Spray herbicides and insecticides and apply fertilizer. Under supervision, operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Operate grain carts in the field in loading of trucks. Under supervision, assist with servicing, cleaning and maintenance of trucks, trailers and machinery. By way of example and not limitation, power equipment may include tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators, combines, sugar beet lifter and other farm equipment. Workers will be expected to be able to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction. In addition, workers may be required to perform variable tasks such as the following: ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, weeding and other tasks related to general farming. Work is performed for long periods of time, in the fields in extreme temperatures and occasional wet weather; requires extensive sitting or walking, pushing or pulling, frequent or prolonged stooping or bending, and repetitive movements; allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray and related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to do the job. Employer may request, but not require workers to work more than 8 hours per day and/or on their Sabbath or federal holidays; work schedule may change due to weather, crop conditions, or other factors. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum (12) months experience working on a diversified crop farm handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities; must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience; Saturday work required; able to lift and carry 50 lbs.; valid Driver's License or able to obtain within 30 days of hire; no minimum education requirement. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts.
