We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to work alongside the cross functional Value Stream teams who will support the development of the EP OpEx system. This individual will be an influencer and facilitator working across multiple value streams to drive effective change. This individual is a systems thinker who gets work done by building relationships and collaborating.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the Operational Excellence Strategy to build and grow a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating, creating, and driving best practices across the division.

  • Lead and teach on Lean methodologies across production locations.

  • Provide facilitation and execution support for continuous improvement projects within Operations, Product Development and Supply Chain.

  • Drive the use of appropriate Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, line balancing, and Management Operating System (MOS) into the daily functions of the Value Stream teams.

  • Manage deployment and adoption of new processes and systems utilizing effective and efficient tools and templates.

Critical aspects of this role expected to succeed at Abbott:

  • Support of all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Abbott policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

  • Maintaining of a positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability in team settings, including the ability to set goals and provide constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Ability to perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • BS in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years experience in manufacturing setting

  • Medical device or regulated field experience preferred.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization across different geographic regions desired.

  • Ability to travel 10%, including internationally.
