WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Packaging Lab Supervisor will be responsible for providing package engineering support in the creation, development and improvement for medical device packaging systems (invasive and non-invasive).

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Researches, develops, designs, evaluates and documents packaging systems, materials, incoming receiving, distribution systems and packaging line equipment.

  • Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.

  • Directs support personnel, coordinates, and reports on project activities.

  • Write and submit intellectual property (patents, when applicable).

  • Investigates and evaluates existing technologies for potential improvement or use.

  • Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development and use.

  • Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.

  • Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance and work direction, and offering counsel.

  • May lead a project team.

  • Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects.

  • Influences middle management on technical or business solutions.

  • Will interact with vendors.

  • Plans and organizes non-routine tasks with approval.

  • Initiates or maintains work schedule.

  • Establishes work assignments priorities.

  • Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.

  • Failure to obtain results, erroneous decisions, or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable resource expenditure.\

  • Manages intake and work flow of Packaging Lab.

  • Responsible for Technician workload.

  • Manages ERMS tasks and ISO/ASTM revision changes.

  • Responsible to lab equipment and calibration.

  • Manages packaging lab request site.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • 6+ years related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area.

  • Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Strong understanding of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.

  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulation.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
