The Data Science & Analytics team is responsible for providing clear, relevant, actionable, measurable, and trusted analytics and insights to the enterprise, which will be acted upon to drive growth of the global enterprise. As part of the Promotions Product team, you will help develop and deploy models, analytical tools, and recommendations to business users around the effectiveness of our promotional offers.
As a Data Scientist , you will apply scientific methods and rigor to produce meaningful and value-added data insights and products to unclear and ill-defined problems.
What will you do?
Apply scientific methods to solve meaningful real-world business problems based on data. Utilize statistical analysis and data mining to validate improvements in customer experience or business metrics.
Ability to mine large structured and unstructured data appropriately to glean actionable insights and to make recommendations on how the data can be used to help solve straightforward business problems.
Participate in necessary discussions with technical and non-technical product team members that determine feasibility of proposed solutions.
Collaborate with other engineers and product team members to implement and deploy scalable solutions.
Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)
Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc) or equivalent experience.
2 years experience in data science, data analysis, data mining or other similar business functions. Advanced degrees in relevant fields may be counted towards experience requirements.
Strong understanding of at least one focus area of data science (e.g. statistics, operations research, design and analysis of experiments, machine learning, quantitative analysis, etc)
Fluency with at least one data science/analytics programming language (e.g. Python, R)
Intermediate data mining skills
Master's degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Physics etc)
1-2 years hands-on data science experience (in addition to master's degree)
Experience using high performance machine learning and/or data mining frameworks
Experience buidling distributed data processing pipelines
Experience developing advanced analytics solutions with Google Cloud
