Position description

The Associate Administrator for Laboratory Medicine Operations is a senior member of Mayo Clinic Rochester's administrative team. The position is responsible for being a major contributor to the operational effectiveness of the entire Mayo Laboratory Services enterprise, including operational planning, leadership, fiscal management, and monitoring of operational and performance outcomes. The position collaborates with physician and administrative leaders throughout Mayo Clinic to enhance relationships and ensure operational effectiveness. The position ensures proper organizational and financial reporting structure is maintained to support DLMP operations.


Masters degree in business or health care administration and a minimum of five years of significant progressive leadership and management experience is required. Leadership and management experience must include working with physicians, executives and/or allied health staff in a variety of assignments. Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, management, operations, finance, quality, and communication. Broad-based upper management experience is required in order to coordinate a wide range of activities across the organization.

License or certification

A working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements and state and federal payment roles that effect clinical laboratories is preferred.
