Department Laboratory Medicine & Pathology
Position description Performs analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
*A two-year commitment to this position is required* Qualifications Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (MLS), clinical laboratory science (CLS) or medical technology (MT) or Bachelor's plus Certificate in medical laboratory science (MLS), clinical laboratory science (CLS), or medical technology (MT), as recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.
** Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Additional qualifications Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems is desirable. Must be capable of producing accurate results under time constraints, multi-tasking, and performing in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must possess good communication skills and be able to work closely with others. Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, on-call, and weekend work assignments.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $28.23 per hour.

Schedule details Five 8 hour days per week on the evening shift; hours 2:00pm-10:30pm
Weekend schedule Rotating weekends with a typical rotation of 1 weekend every 3 weeks.
