Department Laboratory Medicine & Pathology
Position description Works with the laboratory information system technical specialist II, laboratory information system technical specialist coordinator, and/or the lab supervisor to provide Laboratory Information System (LIS) support for the laboratory, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory file build. Accurately documents and tracks changes made to laboratory file build using the test implementation system. Serves as an expert resource for IM functions to the laboratory. Completes other projects or assignments as assigned.
*A two-year commitment to this position is required* Qualifications Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution, or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories, a bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable. Two years relevant laboratory experience required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Other clinical laboratory specialty certificates will be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.

Additional qualifications Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory processes. Exposure to, or experience with, IM file build and/or the IM test implementation process. Capable of performing under time constraints, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced and changing environment. Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to work closely with others. Able to work independently.
Previous experience with SCCSoft and EPIC preferred. Knowledge of excel calculations, queries, and macro helpful.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,396.00, based on a full-time position.
