Position description

The Division of Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is conducting a search for an ambitious academic medical oncologist focused in neuro-oncology to join the faculty of our top-ranked and growing medical oncology practice. The ideal candidate will be a board certified/board eligible medical oncologist with translational research experience and clinical expertise in the management of CNS malignancies, preferably with independently obtained research funding. Responsibilities will include a mix of practice, research and academics, including resident/fellow education. Patient care activities will primarily be outpatient and will involving providing world class patient care and clinical expertise to patients with primary CNS tumors, while working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment including medical oncologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neuro-pathologists, neuro-radiologists, palliative care and other accomplished specialists. Research activities may include pioneering research at the basic, translational and/or clinical level; utilizing novel experimental therapeutics and developing CNS tumor-related clinical trials at Mayo Clinic in the established NCI cooperative groups, with industry and other collaborators in the neuro-oncology field. The selected candidate will also be involved in the education of students, residents and fellows as part of their daily work. The position carries an academic appointment in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, rank commensurate with experience. Compensation is very competitive, and benefits are comprehensive, including a relocation package.
