Position description

Postdoctoral research positions in Mitochondrial Disease Biomarkers are open for applications in the Clinical Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. The positions are under the mentorship of Dr. Devin Oglesbee. Dr. Oglesbee’s research is focused on the clinical translation of new biomarkers for mitochondrial dysfunction using state-of-the-art approaches including high-resolution mass spectrometry, peptide analyses, and micro-RNA profiling. Well-trained, motivated Ph.D. graduates, or postdoctoral fellows, with an understanding of mass spectrometry or molecular methods, and an interest in learning clinical laboratory translational processes for genetic disorders, such as mitochondrial disease, are encouraged to apply.

Together, these new approaches above may discover new classes of biomarkers that are also accessible in less invasive specimens, such as blood, and predictive of mitochondrial disease progression.
