This R & D Process Technician will be primarily responsible for the safe set-up and operation of two R&D pultrusion processing lines producing various composite materials.
Sets-up and execution/operation of tape, LFT and rod pultrusion lines for R&D trials, and on a limited basis production run
Works with Productivity project manager and local site to complete productivity projects
Assists with design and implementation of new equipment & tooling
Records and documents any relevant processing information during execution of trials, and managing SOC records
Submits test requests to support NPD and productivity projects
Gathers and blends all required raw materials for R&D trials
Keeps the R&D process and equipment area clean and organized according to established 5S process
Operates equipment and processes in a safe manner & proactively communicate all near misses or unsafe conditions
PM checks and routine maintenance on required equipment
Works with development engineers and product specialists to create all trial plan documentation (SOC's, formulation, special instructions, etc.)
Supports inventory management of all materials, tooling, replacement parts, safety and MRO supplies
Assists with transferring new product and process technology from R&D to production
Supports molding of Composite materials when needed
High School diploma or equivalent
Associates Degree in any technology based – skilled trade associate
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in extrusion and/or pultrusion processing
